Prior to graduate studies Paulann completed a Bachelor of Church Music degree in 1971, Bachelor of Arts in Art in 1988, and a Bachelor of Arts in Family Psychology in 1993. She is a clinical Member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) and the Oklahoma Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (OKAMFT) and served as President of their advisory board, 2004-2006. She was appointed to the State of Oklahoma LMFT Licensing Board, 2006-2008. Paulann has worked with adolescents and adults in an inpatient setting where she provided individual, family, and group therapy. She provided services to a wide range of clients in a community mental health agency before entering private practice in 2002. She is trained to administer the PREPARE and ENRICH inventories and served as one of the feedback clinicians at Oklahoma Marriage Initiatice (OMI) retreats. Paulann serves on the Board of Directors for Project Safe, and Red Rock Behavioral Health Services. She is also the chairperson for the Leadership Shawnee Committee, Shawnee Chamber of Commerce. She is a member of the community task force to Stop Truancy and Reduce Tardiness (S.T.A.R.T.) She has served as President, Board of Director for the American Red Cross of Central Oklahoma,.

Paulann C. Canty holds a Master of Science in Family Relations and Child Development with a specialty in Marriage and Family Therapy from Oklahoma State University. She completed requirements and was certified by the State of Oklahoma as a Licensed Marital and Family Therapist on April 23, 1999, #742.
